PLEASE NOTE - due to some new information from NYSPHSAA received Sept. 27th, we've learned that there are restrictions on individuals and stunt groups competing and restrictions on the administering of scholarships. To be in compliance with these restrictions and requirements, we have reconfigured our format and can reinstate this division. This will was not possible prior to our Fall Championship. Criteria for All-Star Individual Division is listed on the Team Registration form.  Senior All-Star is now called "Section III All-Star" and will no longer be restricted to Seniors - all Winter Varsity Team Members are eligible.  Up to 20% of a team is eligible to participate.    -VERY IMPORTANT - IN ORDER FOR A TEAM OR ITS' MEMBERS TO COMPETE AT THE WINTER SECTION III CHAMPIONSHIP - THEY MUST HAVE COMPETED IN 2 WINTER SEASON SANCTIONED COMPETITIONS PRIOR TO SECTION III. This is in accordance with NYSPHSAA criteria for entering championships - this will also be required for the New York State Championships, to be held March 2018.

In order to compete/receive a bid to the NYS Championships, you must qualify at the Winter Sectional Championships and only Winter teams can qualify.

Please note - depending on the number of teams registered - the competition may be split into morning and afternoon sessions - will advise ASAP

Senior All-Star Competition - Due to restrictions on individual competition, just handed down at the end of September, we are reconfiguring this division an hope to post information soon.

NEW - for Team Competition

Section III has adopted the competition criteria that NYSPHSAA has defined, however our class divisions will remain the same as 2016-17, and includes a separate Co-Ed Division. (Co-Ed is defined as 1 or more males)

The NEW Score Sheets, a NEW Scoring Rubric, and Deductions Sheet, will be those from the NYSPHSAA. Section III will use the 5 class divisions, based on school enrollment as well as a Co-Ed Division. Titles will be awarded in the Classes (A, AA, B, C, D), with no further breakdown for team size, there is also a separate Co-ed division.

NEW performance requirements - Be sure to check your competition requirements, score sheets and rubrics so you are aware of changes while you are doing choreography. Cheer must be 30 seconds in length, minimum. Dance must be minimum of (3)three, 8 counts - not including transitions and licensed music must be used. Your performance must also included 5-15 seconds of "downtime". Downtime is not scored and teams should not be cheering. It is not included in the 2:30min. time limit. However, teams may move in downtime---change formation, remove props, etc. It just is not judged. There will be a penalty assessed without a minimum of 5 seconds of downtime.

Note - that if you are planning to try to qualify to attend the NYS Championship with your winter team, the divisions are based on team size and a 2 class system with a separate Co-Ed Division - Section III is only using the class system and we are using 5 classes, plus Co-Ed. Section III will only be sending 6 teams to the NYS Championship in the winter season - ONLY the Sectional Champions in each division/class will receive a bid to move on (A, AA, B, C, D, and Co-Ed)

If for some reason there is need for a weather related or other cancellation, it will be posted on Syracuse area TV, and coaches will be contacted.

Information and any changes will be posted as they are available so Check back again !

Competition results and Team Champion Photos will be posted the week after the Championship.
