Welcome to the Merton Park Bowling Club and Merton Park Ladies Bowls Club website
We are based in John Innes Park in Mostyn Road, SW19 3LL
Have you ever thought about playing lawn bowls? It gets you out in the fresh air and is wonderful exercise, without being too strenuous. It is suitable for both men and women, boys and girls, of any age.
Why don’t you come along and give it a try? We hold regular introductory sessions on Wednesday evenings, from 6 p.m until dusk, starting on the 1st Wednesday in May. We provide everything that you will need from shoes to bowls to coaching.
The first session is absolutely free and you will even get a cup of tea and a biscuit!!
The migration of photo galleries to the 'Photo Galleries (mobile friendly)' menu option has been completed. This recently introduced menu option will allow photos to be 'swiped' up or down rather than by selecting individual thumbnails which do not always work well on Windows browsers.
Along with a cosmetic colour change there are two new menu options and a name change.
Historic Finals Results. When Finals results are published the previous years results will be moved over to this page. At present we have results for 2014 and 2015, 2016 will be added as soon as possible.
Google Events Calendar. An alternative to the website calendar.
The News menu has been temporarily re-labled '90th Anniversary'. The text has yet to be revised as has the text on the home page.
The colour change is in anticipation of having a new banner incorporating an image showing a match, along with club emblem(s), and is designed to reflect the greens in the picture.
I am still actively working on the site (and looking at other options) but please email me if things don't work or need improvement and I'll do what I can. Mike H
The look of the site has been changed by using a different colour scheme. It is not set in stone and can be changed back to the old style, or indeed to a different one, very easily. I'm working on a slightly jazzier version of the banner - making it pictorial and incorporating the club emblem.
